I just returned from a Mother’s Day Luncheon hosted by Genesis Women’s Shelter. Genesis provides safe shelter to battered women and children. For 25 years, they’ve educated victims of abuse to break the cycle of violence and believe in their own self-worth.
The speaker at the luncheon was Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State under former President George W. Bush. Former First Lady Laura Bush was slated to introduce Dr. Rice but couldn’t because of duties related to her current book. Instead, George W. himself made a surprise appearance and gave the introduction! The luncheon attendees were thrilled. President Bush and Dr. Rice received standing ovations. Regardless of political views, it’s awe inspiring to be in the presence of those who endured the heavy responsibility of leadership for our nation.
Dr. Rice gave an inspiring speech about the treatment of women in the world and how the private sector offers something no government can: compassion. She said that one-on-one interaction plays an important role in changing lives and inspiring others to break the bonds of oppression and achieve their true potential.
It made me realize that each one of us can assume that role in our daily lives. Every contact with another person becomes an opportunity to motivate, inspire, and lead. Writers can motivate with their words. Dentists can inspire patients through patient education. Identiwrite Creative creates Patient Education Pages that provide information patients need to make informed choices about oral healthcare. More often than not, an informed patient is a grateful patient – one who accepts treatment recommendations and gladly refers you to friends, family, and coworkers.
You appreciate your patients. Show them with Patient Education Pages from Identiwrite Creative.
